Here’s some predictions for 2025:
– JetBlue will continue to expand service at almost every airport they serve in New England including Manchester while ORH once again gets nothing.
– Breeze will announce service out of Logan. They want to get into the international market (London, Dublin) and will likely choose Logan as one of the initial cities to start international service from.
– We’ll see more news articles about how ORH is “soaring” and “flying high” because the passenger count grew by a few thousand people.
– New Haven, Pease, etc. will continue to grow and expand service. Avelo recently announced 4 more destinations they will serve from New Haven (I think Avelo is at or above 30 destinations served out New Haven now and Breeze has about 10 out of New Haven).
– The useless Delta and American flights out of ORH will continue to struggle. I remember seeing in this blog and reading online somewhere that the American flight from ORH to JFK has the worst passenger numbers of any flight in the entire American route map.
– People like me who live a few miles from ORH will continue giving our business to out of state airports like TF Green and Bradley because the offerings at ORH are pathetic.
I’ll also add that I went on a last minute trip to West Palm Beach the second week of December and flew out of Logan because there were some insanely cheap nonstop flights on Delta available (less than $150 roundtrip). Used Logan Express out of Framingham which was packed (2 full buses on the trip to Logan) and then when I flew back a few days later the bus wasn’t able to take any other passengers after stopping at Terminal B because it was full. Flying out Terminal A was packed and it was packed even more when I arrived back in Boston. Security lines were insanely long (getting TSA Pre-Check is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made). I also found out while at the Logan Express that they were going to temporarily move operations to one of the Natick Mall garages so they can double the size of new garage they just built a few years ago. Logan is clearly growing while ORH stays stuck in neutral.
While I’m doing my usual rant about poorly that I think Massport is running ORH, I’ll also add that their marketing plan stinks. I’ve seen the digital billboard on 290 and honestly, it’s a pathetic advertisement. Why don’t they advertise that parking is $7 per day at ORH??? I also still strongly believe they should change the name of the airport to Worcester-Metrowest Boston Airport or something along those lines.
One final thing, I noticed that Amazon packed up and left the warehouse down the road from ORH. I guess they must have consolidated everything into the new fscility at the Greendale Mall site.

I would not want to fly a JB or breeze aircraft to Europe. To small of a plane for such a long flight. Worcester is Worcester four flights and that’s it.
