Breeze Cutting Back at Tweed
Avelo has done great at Tweed. Looks like addition of Breeze to Tweed has overwhelmed the airport.
“In order to help alleviate operational constraints at the airport as they continue progress toward accommodating the rapid growth in service from Breeze and other airlines, we made some adjustments in our schedule that resulted in that route ending sooner than anticipated,” said McKinnley Matson, Breeze Airways spokesperson. “However, we are very happy with the response we have received from Tweed travelers since beginning service in December and continue to look for other opportunities to grow our service in New Haven.”

New Haven is clearly growing so fast that it can’t keep up with the passenger demand.
ORH on the other hand, growth and passenger demand are not anything Massport will need to worry about anytime soon.
I also don’t see how any of the recent news about JetBlue will bode well for ORH.
This isn’t that much of a shocker. This was partially due to Avelo going to Bradley so they can do international flights. Breeze still has limited aircraft availability but are getting more. They have 35/90 planes and are trying to retire the E190s and E195s soon. Tweed is having issues right now with trying to expand the airport and runway but keep running into neighbor complaints. It’s unfortunate because if Worcester had the flights tweed has, then the only issue would be parking and that’s it but everything else would be great
Avelo flights are cheap to Punta Cana. The parking is terrible. You must reserve a spot weeks before you go. If tweed expands the runway, you could have another major airport in CT, JB and the gang will be there soon!
