February 18th Thru March 28th Daily to Fort Myers

Read Time:11 Second

Demand must have been pretty good for these twice weekly flights. Since February 18th thru March 28th there is a flight every day to Fort Myers.

Last week the lot was really starting to fill up.

  1. Has anyone been able to get info on why American & Delta BOTH haven’t & are not flying a single flight to ORH between Xmas Day that’s past & mid January? Mid-January they both resume service. Seems like a weird pause in service that’s both carriers jointly.

  2. Not sure about American but Delta has done this two years in a row now. They’ve done it with several routes, not just ORH-LGA. I believe there is a post-holiday dip in several markets.

  3. Worcester airport is heavily traveled to the east coast of Florida. Most of the snow birds from central ma own or rent places on the east coast of Florida. Other travelers continue to Latin America or Caribbean. Southwest Florida is not heavily traveled from central ma or ma in general. Just my opinion. When massport announced Ft Myers they gave the seats away for a week and planes are still not full. I’m in FLL now and I ran into many people from central ma. Worcester should ditch Ft. Myers add another flight to FLL or PR. The Red Sox don’t have the juice with the new generation, they couldn’t care less about baseball or winter baseball. WP beach would be a better choice for a seasonal flight than Ft Myers. The west coast is still in disarray from the hurricane. I was just talking to sales person in central ma that left the west coast because of high unemployment, companies closed up. Just my opinion.

  4. Would be great if ORH expanded its flight options in 2024 and offered at least one decent connection to a HUB like it used to have with JetBlue to JFK.
Ideally, ORH-Atlanta with Delta and ORH-Charlotte with American would be beneficial for the airport. If that doesn’t happen or its not in the plans, ORH should focus on more point-to-point destinations such as Puerto Rico, Las Vegas, Tampa, increase the Orlando and Fort Lauderdale to twice daily.
Seems as ORH is stuck on the x1daily three destinations (sometimes not even daily) for years now, with no growth expected. Maybe try and recruit more airlines. ORH is a great airport in my opinion, beats driving to Logan any day, it just needs more flight options.
