Polar Park
Read Time:20 Second
It has been sometime since we have posted on this but you got to read this story.
We have no doubt that the DIF for the balllpark is not covering the bond payments and it will only get worse.
Lucchino/PawSox group made a ton of money on the backs of the tax-payers building this stadium and we will be paying for this every year.

Worcester should sell the park to pay off the debt. Minor league baseball is done! The former city manager and city councilor shouldn’t have been given the ability to negotiate. The former city manager is not qualified to work at a supermarket. Worcester tax payers have there own big dig to deal with.
Who would possibly buy this stadium with the current debt schedule and lease??? Not to mention a new owner could run the risk of paying property taxes on 160 million dollar commercial property.
The lease is actually a very salable asset because it is so far below market and avoids real estate taxes.
You couldn’t rent a small bar ot barbershop for the low leases rate that the entire Polar Park pays, not to mention all of the public infrastructure surrounding and supporting the park that the park gets for freee
It is a great lease!!! Thus the PawSox were able to sell the team and make a ton of money. Nobody will buy this stadium.
A buyer who needs to write off $$$. There is ass for every seat!! A buyer is out there.
