I should have seen the JFK flight cuts coming. The reason JB is reluctant to add more than 3 flights is any more requires JB per contract to supply their own ground crew/ticket attendants, etc. Currently this is out sourced to Atlantic Aviation. Without cutting the JFK flights, this would’ve bumped JB to 4x daily flights in June and 5x daily (come 2024). That would force JB to supply staff to ORH which they have (since 2013) been reluctant to do. Since Day 1 of 2013, the ground crew has been outsourced. You’ll never see a JetBlue marked employee on the ramp, they’re all 3rd party at ORH. Not once had anyone of my sources at Atlantic Aviation mentioned staffing changes so I should’ve seen the red flags

. With the announcement I guess I just assumed they had finally made the jump & put their own staff in. I was wrong.

  1. Since JB is not adding more than 3x flights daily, might be time to look at other airlines. Simply put, there is not commitment from JB at ORH. Good that we have Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, but that’s all ORH is going to have from JB. Fort Myers at this time, we can’t even count on it, as it is 9 months from now 2x weekly and seasonal.
The fact that the AA flight to JFK is not even integrated with JB on AA’s website, is also not good. AA and Delta flights at this moment, are basically to go to NYC as an end destination, as there are very limited connection options on very late flights, with often 2 or more stops to your destination. These flights are not good for ORH as they stand.
    Hopefully things change soon.

  2. Delta flight from Worcester is sold out tomorrow. American flight out of Worcester is sold out on Saturday.

  3. Delta and American are only sold out because it’s the beginning of school vacation week. Once vacation week is over they”ll be back to their dismal passenger numbers that they have the other 49 weeks of the year that aren’t one of the school vacation weeks.
