WooSox For Sale
Imagine a rubbish company to the City of Worcester and saying:
- Can you build us a 160,000,000 million dollar transfer station
- Of which we will contribute 10,000,000 (number might have been higher)
- Lease the facility to us at low cost
- The lease payments with not cover the bond payments
- Rubbish Company says they will bring other developments to the DIF the City of Worcester will break even
- Rubbish Company will not pay real estate taxes on the 160,000,000 building
- There is nothing in the lease that will stop us from selling our rubbish business, which will allow new owner to continue the lease
Any taxpayer would laugh at this, but if you wrap the rubbish company around baseball, apple pie and Chevrolet, the City of Worcester is all in!
The current ownership of the WooSoox are going to make so much money on this while the taxpayers will be stuck drawing money out of the General Fund to meet bond payments… Cannot wait to see the Telegram coverage of this….

Avelo to PR from New Haven. Worcester should jump on that flight. I said it before, Worcester to PR would work well.
It all comes down to the former city manager, didn’t tenant health care do the same thing to Worcester 25 years ago. The city should sell the stadium. The city can’t cut the grass at east park.
