ORH is having issues with parking right now. State troopers had the lower lot blocked off and there were signs that said “temporary parking spots” to try and fit extra cars. Great to see because the 5 flights should be doing well this week being school vacation week especially for the fort myers flight but this is something that needs to be addressed and fixed if ORH wants more flights. The 200 spots on top that are added are supposedly temporary according to the Boston globe article but they’ll need more in order for expansion

Fully went up to the airport and checked it out (after only driving by originally). The state trooper has moved next to the entrance of the lower lot (the Orlando flight didn’t land yet when I drove by before but more spots opened up). They’ve added 2 new permanent exit gate areas in the upper lot now and made the old exit lane an additional entrance lane (which is in the process of being changed over.) There was another sign saying “alternate employee parking in effect” and tons of signs saying “authorized parking only” spread out throughout the entrance and exit road of the airport so it’ll be interesting to see if this gets really bad tomorrow considering more people will be leaving from orh than going in tomorrow. The 6 flights total between ORH and Florida are 90% full with the ORH to FLL leg being completely sold out (6 flights meaning ORH to FLL and FLL to ORH are 2 in this case).
