JetBlue Airways, which after the collapse of Spirit Airlines stormed its way to the top spot at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, launched eight new nonstop destinations Thursday with a pledge of a long-term commitment to the community.

During an airport ceremony featuring the New York-based carrier’s top two executives and local political and business leaders, JetBlue disclosed it is now operating 130 daily flights to more than 55 nonstop destinations, the airline’s largest schedule in its 26-year history of operating at the airport.

Editor: After JFK I believe Boston and Fort Lauderdale are JetBlue’s biggest airports. Two flights per day out of ORH-FLL seems to fit their JetForward objectives?
