Times of Fort Lauderdale Flights

Read Time:1 Minute, 0 Second

Starting second week of Wednesday September 9th thru (Wednesday November 18th, we lose the Tuesday and Wednesday flights. That sucks. The current schedule now is:

  • Worcester 4:45 PM Lands Fort Lauderdale 8:06 PM
  • Fort Lauderdale 12:20 PM Worcester 3:24 PM

Ideally I would like to leave Sunday morning and come back Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. There is no Sunday morning so I will leave Saturday at 4:45 PM and come back Wednesday at 3:42 PM. So I can do that now thru Labor Day.

I can not help but think if we can do another flight to Fort Lauderdale leaving early getting back late, while keeping the mid day flight, would make Worcester a great option to Fort Lauderdale in our catchment area.

It matches up with JetForward emphasis on the NorthEast to Florida corridor and their expansion in Fort Lauderdale. Let’s hope when everday8 day service starts again maybe another flight will be added?? Actually a second flight from JetBlue to FLL is our best chance for any new service out of Worcester over the next 6 months.

  1. Both times I flew down to Florida this year, I decided to fly out of Logan because of the time. You’re less likely to be delayed the earlier your flight is as well. I did fly back into Worcester but with the earlier flight time, you get more time in Florida which in both cases I was able to take advantage of whereas if I flew out of Worcester, I would’ve just been sitting and waiting for my flight.

They added that flight for 8 times in April where it left at 6am and got you to Fort Lauderdale for a little after 9 then left Fort Lauderdale at 845pm and got you back to Worcester around midnight which was great because you truly felt like you had two bonus days. That’s what the time was when the flight started back up and that’s what I wish was permanent. I also think Orlando would be the best shot to get another flight because that flight has proven successful load factors and they’ve added a second flight the last 2 years for spring school vacation time. We’ll see if this new plan of adding frequencies works out
